The Bulldog is an electro-mechanical system designed to detect misalignment of the conveyor belt. It is equipped with two switches, the first is activated if the roller is tilted by 20°, the second at 35°. The Bulldogs are installed in pairs on the opposite sides of the belt.
The Bulldog can also detect the tearing of the conveyor belt using a flexible metal cable which must be positioned below the belt.
